Brethren of Roman Eagle, Merry Christmas Brethren! This email’s intent is to enlighten everyone as to our upcoming Stated Communication and other events. This Thursday, December 18th, at 7:00pm we will be having our last Stated Communication of the year which we have received special dispensation to open in the Second Degree to allow our newest Fellow Craft enjoy this festive event with his Brethren. The education for the evening will include a short presentation on the Masonic significance of the poinsettia followed by a white elephant gift exchange. The gift exchange was a lot fun last year and this year is expected to be the same. If you would like to participate, we are asking that you bring a wrapped gift of around a $20 value; for example, the gift can be anything from something from an ABC store, a hardware store, a grocery store (a pack of steak nowadays is around $20), or maybe you have something cool laying around in a junk drawer that you think someone would enjoy. After the meeting we will have light refreshments and feel free to bring a little snack for everyone’s enjoyment and fellowship. Other than that, Gents, the only thing of note is that our first Stated Communication in January falls on the 1st and we have decided to go dark that evening. Our outgoing Worshipful Master thanks all the Brethren of Roman Eagle and of the 21st District for an amazing year and that we should all look forward to 2026 with WB John Crowl leading us from the East. Please enjoy the pictures below. Again, Merry Christmas and may the blessings of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may Brotherly Love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us. SMIB! Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone is preparing for the holiday season, especially for Thanksgiving which is our Worshipful Master’s favorite holiday. While you are enjoying a feast with your friends and family, do not forget to give thanks to the sacrifice of all those Service Members and First Responders who cannot be home with their families so that we can safely enjoy this time with ours. This message is to inform everyone about our upcoming Stated Communication and other events. This Thursday, November 20th, we will have a Stated Communication at 7:00pm with light refreshments following. We will have a special guest speaker, three-time Worshipful Brother Blake McGraw from Carthage Lodge 181, who will give a presentation titled, “What Are You Doing?”. Our Mike Dunn’s Butts fundraiser is coming to an end, of which, we are going to smoke 64 butts. We will need assistance on the evening of Friday the 21st to prepare them and place them in the smokers. We will then need assistance to remove them and prepare to pass them out early in the morning on the 22nd. If you did not have a chance to purchase one, we did order 10 extras to sell between 9 and 1; so, come on down, enjoy some time in the quarries with your Brothers, and let’s make this fundraiser a smooth success. There are still tickets available for the Moore County Shrine Club Christmas Part at Table On The Green. If you are interested, I highly recommend it as it is always an awesome time, contact club President John Dunbar @ 910-544-7624 or Secretary Bill Loeser @ 910-759-0571. Take care and may the God of love and peace delight to dwell with and bless you. SMIB! Fraternally, Roman Eagle #550 |

Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope all is well with everyone as we are entering into the holiday season. This email is to inform you as to our upcoming Stated Communication and other events. This Thursday, November 6th, at 7:00pm there is a Stated Communication with a meal at 6:00pm. During this gathering in our quarry, we will have our elections of officers for 2026. We will also have a short discussion as to who the second section of the 3˚ is about. We often think it is about the initiate’s right of passage, or the fortitude of our great architect HA, or maybe it is about King Solomon’s wisdom. What if there’s more? Maybe there is another unsung hero within our drama who is the true showpiece. In other news, our Mike Dunn’s Butts fundraise is quickly approaching and we are asking everyone to please turn in any tickets they have sold so we can have an accurate count. This will be the last Stated Communication before the November 19th deadline to order the butts, pick them picked up, cooked on November 21st, and for them to be ready for pickup the morning of the 22nd. This past Saturday Brother Mark Conner was in town from Georgia and even with such short notice our Sr Warden, Worshipful Brother John Crowl, pull together a small group or amazing Brothers and they presented Brother Mark with his 25-year award; picture below. Also, if you plan on attending the Shriner Christmas dinner on December 5th at Table On The Green, please contact John Dunbar @ 910-544-7624 or Bill Loeser @ 910-759-0571, seats are limited at $50 each. We look forward to seeing you all this Thursday and until then take care and may the God of Love and Peace delight to dwell with and bless you. SMIB Fraternally, Roman Eagle #550 |

Brethren of Roman Eagle, Good day, Brethren? We hope you are all doing great. This is a message to enlighten everyone about our upcoming Stated Communication and other events. This Thursday, October 16th, at 7:00pm there is a Stated Communication where we will have an after-action review of 2025. This discussion will act as a point where next year’s officers can true their working tools to ensure Roman Eagle has an amazing 2026. The Worshipful Master will also share with the Lodge some of the things that helped him stay plumb, level, and square during his 2025 tenure. This will be a great time to have this conversation as we will roll into our elections on November 6th. As far as other news and events, our “Mike Dunn’s Butts” fundraiser is still going strong; we are pre-selling tickets at $40 for amazingly cooked Boston Butts that will be ready for pickup on the morning of November 22nd. Also, the Worshipful Master is selling 2025 Masonic Christmas Ornaments for $10 with all proceeds going towards next year’s Harmony (see pictures below). Other than that, we will be presenting our Merit Award to two well deserving elementary school students at The Academy of Moore today. We look forward to seeing you all this Thursday, October 16th, at 7:00 and until then, may the blessing of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us. Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope you all are doing great during these asymmetrical weather shifts; one day it feels like autumn, then it’s hot like summer, and now it feels like May showers. Maybe we can ground ourselves back on the level this Thursday, October 2nd, during our Stated Communication at 7:00pm with a dinner at 6:00pm. We have a slight change in the program this week as our guest speaker, Worshipful Brother Blake McGraw from Carthage 181, will not be available due to work. However, we will not be without Masonic Education as our Worshipful Master will provide a presentation on “The Three Types of Knowledge” as they pertain to the three degrees. In other news, Annual Communication has passed which was eventful and, thank goodness, drama free. Our new Grand Master is Most Worshipful Steve M. Norris; here is a link as to his background https://nobleacademyeducation.org/steve-norris/ . He seems to be a very authentic and down-to-earth Brother, he even made an appearance at Service Before Self this past Saturday. Speaking of Service Before Self, our very own Roman Eagle BBQ team took 1st place and won the people’s choice award. With that said, we will be selling those amazing 1st place Boston Butts on November 22nd with presales happening right now at $40 each. Come to Lodge this week and enjoy a meal together, fellowship, increase your knowledge, and be an upright Mason. Until then, take care and may the blessing of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may Brotherly Love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us. SMIB. Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone is doing great as we are approaching the autumn months, you can already feel the change in the weather. This email is about our upcoming Stated Communication and other upcoming events. This Thursday, September 18th at 7:00pm, Worshipful Brother John Crowl will be filling the East as our sitting WM will be in Winston-Salem for Annual Communication. WB John has asked Brother Jere Lee McClendon to do his presentation on “Masonry & The Civil War.” We will also have a short discussion as we share our findings on the symbolism of the Rooster; during our last gathering our WM asked us to investigate the symbolism of the Rooster with how it relates to Masonry as well as other orders and countries around the world. This should all make for an interesting evening. As far as our other events are concerned. Our “WB Mike Dunn’s Butts” fundraiser is in full swing. We are going to sell amazingly cooked Boston butts for $40 each; plenty of tickets are still available and the butts will be ready for pickup on November 22nd. We are also preparing for a blood drive on October 10th from 12:00pm – 5:00pm. There are many donor benefits to giving blood such as improved cardiovascular health, stimulated blood cell production, enhanced liver function, psychological well-being, etc. We look forward to seeing all of you this Thursday, September 18th at 7:00pm, and until then live in peace and may the God of love and peace delight to dwell with and bless you. Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Labor Day weekend. This is a message about our upcoming Stated Communication and other events. This Thursday, September 4th, at our Stated Communication we will be having a meal at 6:00pm and gavel at 7:00pm. This week we will have Brother Jim Kennedy from Southern Pines Lodge #484 provide us with a presentation on the Masonic Home for Children. With the Masonic Home having changes to their operations and personnel this year and with their October Homecoming event right around the corner, this should make for an enlightening presentation. In other news, our Boston butts fundraiser is in full swing as we have plenty of tickets and all proceeds will go to the Masonic Home for Children. Also, Carthage Lodge #181 is hosting their Service Before Self event on Saturday, September 27th, and we are sponsoring a BBQ team from our lodge to participate in their BBQ Cookoff. This event is always a great time with music, food, beverages, and plenty of fellowship; it will be held at WB Chris Reeves' Home at Last Farms, 527 Red Hill Rd, Cameron NC. Well, Brethren, we hope to see you all this Thursday and until then, be ye all of one mind, live in peace, and may the God of love and peace delight to dwell with and bless you. Brethren of Roman Eagle, Hello Brethren! We hope all are well as we begin to round out August here. This is a message about our upcoming Stated Communication this Thursday at 7:00pm and other upcoming events. This Thursday we have the approval to kick off, what we are calling, “Mike Dunn’s Butts” fundraiser where we are going to sell fully cooked bone-in Boston Butts on November 22nd. This is the Saturday leading into Thanksgiving and the thought is to give the wives a little break from cooking as they prepare for the feast to come. We did this fundraiser two years ago and we sold 60 with all proceeds going to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford. We are going to start the presales at our next Stated and they will be $40 each. Also, the Masonic education for the evening will be very interactive and enlightening where we will identify what kind of Masons every one of us are. It is an important topic as there are as many Masonries being practiced as there are Masons and Roman Eagle’s staff wants to ensure everyone’s needs and desires are being met. In other news, we look forward to our Brothers’ Breakfast on Saturday, August 30th, at 8:00am. The menu will consist of scrambled eggs, bacon, Neese’s sausage, potatoes O’Brian, and Belgian waffles. Remember, our breakfast is always open to the district and family. Also, we had quite the showing at our last Stated Communication where we had four 50-year Past Masters who were present which included: WB Myron Gay, WB Jesse Joyce, WB Bobby Laton, and WB Mike Dunn (picture below). Other than that, we look forward to seeing you all this Thursday at 7:00pm and finally brothers, be ye all of one mind, live in peace and may the God of love and peace delight to dwell with and bless you. Brethren of Roman Eagle, How is everyone? We hope all is well as we are now in the last full month of summer and entering the NFL preseason. This is just an update reminded of our Stated Communication this week and other events. This Thursday at 6:00pm we will have a meal followed by a very special Stated Communication at 7:00pm. Worshipful Brother Myron Gay will be in town, and we will present him with his well-deserved 50-year service award. We are encouraging all that know WB Myron to attend Lodge this evening and celebrate this great milestone achievement with him. Also, we have made some major renovations to the lodge room you all may greatly appreciate. We replaced all the gutter florescent lights with LED so we no longer have to withstand that annoying hum, the walls have been painted white and blue, and all our Past Masters are in new frames and have been elegantly placed on the South wall. Over the past several years we have made some amazing upgrades in our building from creating an amazing Room of Reflection, to installing a beautiful flagpole, to upgrading our bathrooms, beatifying our outside area, and we have many more plans to come such as tackling the kitchen area and maybe adding another row of seating. Come on out this Thursday and enjoy a wonderful meal, fellowship with your Masonic brothers, and let’s have a grand evening. In other news, we are done with our summer break, and we are bringing back our Brothers’ Breakfast, which is open to friends and family, on the last Saturday of the month, August 30th, at 8:00am. The breakfast will consist of scrambled eggs, bacon, Nesse’s sausage, potatoes O’Brian, and Belgian waffles. Also, the Moore County Shrine Club’s Sand T’s participated in the Pinehurst International Children’s Golf Parade last week and one of our members, Brother Craig Forster, made headlines in the high north of Norway during his ski adventure this past winter; pictures of the parade and a link to Brother Craig’s news article are below. Brethren, Roman Eagle #550 is alive, doing outstanding, and we look forward to seeing you all in our quarry this Thursday evening and until then, may the blessing of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us! Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone is fairing well this month with the resent storms we have had and now the heat. This message is to provide some information about our upcoming Stated Communication this Thursday and current events. There will be a meal provided this Thursday at 6:00pm and our Stated Communication will commence at 7:00pm. At this communication we will be conferring the 1st Degree for a new initiate. Please come on out so we can have a good showing and leave a great first impression on this good man seeking light in Masonry. In other news, we have painted the East and West walls in the lodge room and we have made improvements to our curb appeal by removing the shrubs along the fellowship hall of the building. We still need to paint the North and South walls in the lodge room and we would like to add a bit more to the outside of the lodge building to lessen the maintenance as well as add to the appearance; all of which will be briefly discussed and voted upon while lodge is in session this Thursday. Well, gents, stay safe out there and until we meet again may the blessing of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us, SMIB! Brethren of Roman Eagle, Happy Independence Day to you all! We all hope you have a safe and fun 4th of July. This email is to enlighten you on our upcoming events and Stated Communication. As far as our Stated Communication this week on Thursday, July 3rd, we will be going dark due to many brothers being out of town to have an early start on the holiday weekend; so, no lodge this week. However, we will be kicking off our 2nd Stated Communication on Thursday, July 17th, with a meal at 6:00pm and gavel at 7:00pm in which we will be initiating a new man into our beloved craft. The degree team will have practice on July 10th and 16th at 6:00pm. In other news, our Masonic Blades Raffle is now finished with Brother Gene Maples winning 1st prize, Brother Dean Carras winning 2nd prize, and the Worshipful Master’s sister-in-law winning 3rd prize. We ended up raising $1820 for our Masonic charities. We also had a great time at our St. Johns’ Family Picnic, there are pictures posted below, and we plan to do it again next year. There are also pictures from our last Stated Communication when we had the Oasis Shrine Potentate, Illustrious Sir Chris Hall speak about the Children’s Hospital while we were dispensed with labor. There are still more great things to come before the lodge as we round out the first half of this year and we look forward to continuing our benevolent labors with everyone. Enjoy this week off and until we meet again, may the blessing of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us. SMIB!

Brethren of Roman Eagle, Happy Father’s Day to all! To all those who are not fathers, thank you for being a solid uncle and role model to our children. This email is to provide you all with information about our upcoming Stated Communication this Thursday and our St. John family picnic this Saturday. This week’s Stated Communication on Thursday, June 19th, is going to consist of a meal at 6:00pm and gavel at 7:00pm. We typically do not have a meal during our 2nd Stated, however, this is a very special meeting in that we will be hosting the Oasis Shine Potentate and members of the Divan. They will provide us with some information about Shrine Hospitals, and we will have a special presentation due to a generous donation to the Shrine Hospital. We are asking that all Shrine Nobles to bring their Fez. The meal for the evening will consist of three different kinds of chili from three different brothers, it should be interesting. Please clear your calendars for Saturday, June 21st, this week because we will have our St. John Family Picnic at Pinebluff Park (also known as Pinebluff Lake) from 10:30 – 3:00. We will be serving Bubba Burgers, Johnsonville Brats, hot dogs, homemade ice cream, and plenty of other side dishes. Bring your family, friends, fishing pole, swim gear, and let’s have an awesome time. We will also be finishing off our Masonic Blades fundraiser by raffling off two Spartan Blades knives and a $100 gift card; we still have tickets for sale, 1 for $5 and 5 for $20. We look forward to seeing you all there! Finally, let’s not forget that the Moore County Shrine Club hot dog sale is still ongoing this Friday from 11:00 to 2:00. This will be the last week so please do your best to make it because they are hands down the best dogs in the state, so come on out and support the cause. Take care brothers and until we meet again, drink plenty of water and may the blessing of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us. Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone is doing well as we are beginning to move into the summer months. This email is to enlighten everyone as to the agenda of our stated communication this week and other events. As for our stated communication this week on Thursday, June 5th, we will have a meal beginning at 6:00pm and gavel at 7:00pm. There is not a whole lot of work to be discussed besides an update on our Masonic Blades fundraiser and our upcoming Saints’ John Picnic on Saturday, June 21st at Pinebluff Park from 10:00am – 3:30ish. We still have tickets available for our Masonic Blades raffle and the drawing will be at our picnic; tickets are 1 for $5 and 5 for $20. We will be passing around a signup sheet of what you would like to bring to the picnic, for example, WB Byron Singleton has already volunteered to bring the beans. What we are asking is for you to have the conversation with your better half and talk about what you’d like to bring such as, but not limited to: potato salad, macaroni salad, fruit salad, some other side dish, dessert, drinks, etc. The lodge will be supplying Bubba Burgers, Johnsonville bratwurst, hotdogs, and all their fixings. The picnic was an awesome time the past few years and we are looking forward to doing the same this year; the picnic is open to family, friends, and all Freemason across the district and world. The education during the Stated Communication will be a presentation on the “Exploitation Process” and how we are being either influenced or manipulated in our everyday lives. Let’s not forget that the Moore County Shrine Club is continuing with their hotdog fundraiser every Friday from 11:00am – 2:00pm throughout the month of June. Come out for lunch and bring your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even your dog will enjoy the trip. Other than that, the Shrine Club has invited the Oasis Divan to our second Stated Communication on June 19th to hold a special ceremony for a very charitable Noble and Brother of our benevolent lodge. Well brethren, until we meet again this Thursday, “be ye all of one mind, live in peace, and may the God of love and peace delight to dwell with and bless you!” SMIB. Fraternally, Roman Eagle #550 |

Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone is doing well. This is another reminder about our upcoming Stated Communication this Thursday, May 15th at 7:00pm. At this communication we will have a few items of discussion such as our Saits’ John Day family picnic at Pinebluff Lake on June 21st, establishing a funeral committee of retired brothers, and education for the even will be on the lost Master Mason’s Word. As for our picnic in June, this was once a major event and then it fell to the wayside for many years and then we brought it back three years ago and it has been growing ever since. We totally understand that it is hard to sometimes make it to our Stated Communications and other things, but this picnic is a fantastic time to reconnect with your brothers and meet some of your new brothers without all the formalities of being in a lodge setting. We would also like to establish a committee of retired brothers to attend Masonic funerals throughout the district. Our funeral ritual is one of the fraternity’s most publicly viewed event and it is not a very good look if there are only 2-3 brothers in attendance; if every lodge in the district establishes this committee, it will greatly help increase our numbers, our perception, and to properly see off our brother as he begins his journey to that undiscovered country from who is born, no traveler returns. Then finally, we will have a discussion on the “Lost Word” as we all know that it is up to us, as a future generation, to find out its true meaning. It should make for a good conversation as it is something we have never talked about. As far as other upcoming and ongoing events. We will be reading a new petition for the degrees, and we have an Entered Apprentice on his way to return his catechism soon. With this said, we will have degree work ahead of us in the upcoming months, which is always a good thing. Also, let’s not forget that the Moore County Shrine Club is still selling hotdogs every Friday from 11:00am – 2:00pm; they truly are the best tasting hotdogs around so please show your support by spreading the word to your friends and family. Likewise, our Masonic Blades raffle is also still ongoing and is doing quite well. In other news, we had the privilege of presenting Worshipful Brother Bobby Laton his 50-year Masonic Service Award and Rite Worshipful Brother Mike Register presented WB Kim Styers and WB John Crowl with the coveted Grand Master 100 Award. The GM 100 Award is a new impact award that is only given to 100 members of our fraternity a year. Currently, there have only been four given out in our district and three reside with members of Roman Eagle. Well gents, this message has gone on long enough. We look forward to seeing you all this Thursday at 7:00pm and until then, may the blessing of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons! May brotherly love prevail, and every moral and social virtue cement us. SMIB Fraternally, Roman Eagle |

Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone is doing great as we are moving forward into the beautiful month of May. This message is to speak about our upcoming Stated Communication this Thursday on May the 1st. This week we will be celebrating all our amazing Past Masters! There will be a meal at 6:00pm prepared by one of our celebrated and distinguished Past Masters, Worshipful Brother Mike Dunn. Following the meal, we will have an eventful evening as we will present Bibles to our two newest Master Masons and then we are planning to present Worshipful Brother Bobby Laton with his well deserved 50-year service award. We will then receive an awesome presentation on “Servant Leadership” from our guest speaker, Rite Worshipful Brother Mike Register, our Grand Junior Warden. In other news, we are still selling raffle tickets for our “Masonic Blades” fundraiser with all proceeds going to our Masonic charities; tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20 and the drawing will be on June 21st during our St. John family picnic at Pinebluff Lake. We can really use some assistance in selling tickets. The Moore County Shrine Club is currently selling hotdogs, with all the fixings, at $3 a piece every Friday from 11:00am-2:00pm. Please come out and help support both fundraisers. Other than that, April was a hot month for us in that Roman Eagle has been the talk of the district with how we went above and beyond during our conferment of the Master Mason Degree, and we also had the great honor of presenting two well deserved 5th graders from Academy of Moore County with our Masonic Merit Scholarship, picture below. Take care brethren and until we meet again this Thursday, may the God of love and peace delight to dwell with and bless you, SMIB. Roman Eagle |

Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone is doing fine during this Easter season. This is a short message about our next Stated Communication on Thursday, April 17th at 7:00pm. We were originally planning to perform a 1st Degree but due to our candidate still being out of town we will do something a little unorthodox. We would like for you to bring an item that is special or important to you. We are all guys, and we all have some kind of collection of things or an old junk drawer or box with something special that really meant something to you at one point in your life. It can be an old tool, watch, gift, award, trophy, a piece from your work uniform, heirloom, a picture, or anything that really means a lot to you, helped mold you into the man you are today, or just something that reminds you of better times. We will then present it like a show and tell as a way for us to really get to know one another and, possibly, learn something new about each other. Also, in the spirit of Passover and Easter, the Worshipful Master will provide a small meal consisting of lamb, rice, bread, and red wine at 6:00pm; the rice recipe is one that he picked up while living alongside his Iraqi partner force. We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday, April 17th to break a little bread and to share a bit of your life’s journey/story. Until then, take care and may the blessing of God attend us all. Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone is doing well and that all this pollen in the air is not recking havoc on anyone’s allergies. This email is a snapshot of upcoming events. This coming Thursday, April 3rd, we will be raising Brother Gary Rosenburg to the Sublime Degree at 7:00pm with a meal at 6:00pm. Brothers, we have really gone out of our way to make the second section of the Master Mason Degree something spectacular. It not only makes the candidate’s experience more rememberable, but it is also designed to make the event more enjoyable for the Brothers in attendance; come on down this Thursday to feel this new sensation for yourself. Our Brothers’ Breakfast has really started to take off these past two months and it is bringing in Brothers from all around the district. If you have not been to one of our breakfasts, you are really missing out. The next one will be on April 26th at 8:00am. If you cannot make a breakfast, maybe you can come on down to the lodge for lunch as the Moore County Shrine Club has started their hotdog fundraiser every Friday from 11:00am – 2:00pm during the months of April, May, and June. Finally, our Masonic Blades fundraiser is in full swing, please take a look at the flyer below and come to the lodge this Thursday to either purchase a few tickets and/or take a few to your friends and family to help support our Masonic charities. Take care everyone and may the blessing of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us. SMIB! Brethren, We hope everyone is doing fine as Spring is at its infancy with the Equinox falling right on our next Stated Communication this Thursday, March 20th at 7:00pm. This week we will be receiving our DDGM, Roman Eagle’s very own WB David Puckett, and our DDGL, WB Billy Freeland. This will not be any normal DDGM/DDGL visit as WB David will have an entourage of brothers traveling with him to speak on the behalf of our Children’s Home, the York Rite, and even our Junior Grand Deacon will provide us with some strategic perspective from the Grand Lodge. As far as other events, our Masonic Blades fundraiser is in full swing where we partnered with Spartan Blade to raffle off a couple of their knives to support our Masonic Charities. Please stop by the lodge to pick up a few tickets to sell to your family and friends which are 1 for $5 and 5 for $20. April 3rd is going to be an extremely important date for our Fellow Craft, Brother Gary Rosenburg, because we will be raising him to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. We are doing a few things differently in the second section of the 3rd Degree to make the experience more eventful for the brethren in attendance and for the candidate. So, please mark your calendars and come out to experience it for yourself. Below are a few pictures of our Beefsteak Harmony this past Saturday, which was a fantastic time, and we plan to do it again next year. Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope you and your families are all doing well. This is just a reminder of our Stated Communication this week on Thursday, March 6th at 7:00pm with a meal at 6:00pm. This coming Stated Communication will be a first ever for Roman Eagle in that we will be having Worshipful Brother Matthew Clark 33˚ from British Columbia, Canada provide us with a presentation on comparing The Tree of Life and The Point Within The Circle; this presentation will all be done through video teleconference (VTC) via Zoom. WB Matthew is the author of “The Point Within The Circle Bounded by Two Parallel Lines” which is a fascinating book full of esoteric symbolism and illustrations. Please come out and join us for this historical milestone. As you can see in the pictures below, Roman Eagle and the Moore County Shrine Club are in full swing. The Oasis Shriners had their Ceremonial right in our very lodge room and our Brothers' Breakfasts are becoming a hit with Brothers from across the district attending each month, our next breakfast is on March 29th. We look forward to seeing you all this Thursday and until then, live in peace and may the blessing of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us. We will still have our Brother’s Breakfast on Saturday March 1st at 8:00am. Please send prayers to our brother, Miles Washburn, as he is in the ICU with breathing issues, we are praying for a speedy recovery. Take care everyone and please stay safe out there. Roman Eagle |

Brethren of Roman Eagle, How is everyone? We hope all are well, given this inconsistent weather we have been seeing lately. This email is a friendly reminder of our upcoming Stated Communication on Thursday, February 20th at 7:00pm. At this meeting we will welcome and receive our district officers: DDGM, Roman Eagle’s very own WB David Puckett, and our DDGL, WB Billy Freeland. Their discussions will include informing us about how Freemasonry has seen growth for the first time in over four decades and about the upcoming “School of Instruction” that has be reinstated since it was suspended in 2020 due to the world’s issues of the time. As for other upcoming events, our Brothers’ Breakfast has been moved to Saturday, March 1st due to the Oasis Shriner’s Ceremonial on Saturday, February 22nd. With this said, if you’d like to become a Shriner and would like to “walk the hot sands” in our very own lodge building please contact the Moore County Shrine Club President, Roman Eagle’s very own Brother John Dunbar @ (910) 544-7624 for more information. We still have tickets to our Beefsteak Harmony on Saturday, March 15th that will consist of a 1lb T-bone steak dinner that will be served on an engraved acacia wood platter that will be gifted to you (see picture below), there will be live music, and a guest speaker; cost of the event is $40, men only this year, and all proceeds will go towards next year’s harmony. It should be a grand time. Other than that, we also presented our Masonic Merit Award to a few worthy children at the Academy or Moore elementary school, see pictures below. Well, Brethren, we look forward to seeing you all at our next Stated Communication this Thursday, February 20th at 7:00pm and until then, may the blessing of heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us; SMIB! |

Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone is doing well. This email is intended to provide everyone with a little overview of our upcoming Stated Communication and other events. Our next Stated Communication is this Thursday, February 6th with a meal starting at 6:00pm and gavel at 7:00pm. We are going to attempt something with the meal and start a discussion about possibly changing the white walls of the lodge room to a light color shade. There will be paint samples passed around and maybe we can come to some kind of agreement by our 2nd Stated in February on the 20th. As far as business is concerned, we do not have much besides voting on our budget for 2025. However, we will have a very interesting presentation titled “Terrestrial Solar Planetariums & Masonic Esoteric Skepticism”. During the presentation we will create a solar calendar in the lodge with the help of our Deacons, their staffs, and visual aids just as our ancient ancestors did throughout world. This will be part one of a two-part series with the second being presented by WB Matthew Clark 33˚ of British Columbia, Canada during our first Stated Communication in March. We believe even the most seasoned and educated Masons will hear something new from these talks. Insofar as upcoming events, our DDGM David Pucket will be hosting a Spaghetti Plate fundraiser on February 28th with all proceeds going to the family of a recently deceased paramedic; we are asking for everyone’s backing in informing your friends and family as well as stopping by the lodge and supporting the cause by picking up a plate or two. Also, our Brothers’ Breakfast will be pushed to March 1st due to the Oasis Shriners “Sandhills Ceremonial” on the 22nd; if you ever had any ambition to become a Shriner, this would be the time to do it and “walk the hot sands” in our very lodge without having to make the long drive to Charlotte. For more information, contact Brother Bill Loeser William.loeser@gmail.com or 910-759-0571. Finally, if you’d like to purchase a lodge polo, please bring $20 to our next stated communication and let the Worshipful Master know your size and we will place an order. Well brethren, until we meet again, be ye all of one mind; live in peace; and may the God of love and peace delight to dwell with and bless you. SMIB! A.F. & A.M. Roman Eagle #550 Aberdeen, NC |

Brethren of Roman Eagle, How is everyone? We hope all is well with you and your families. We have quite a bit of work ahead of us, which is a great thing. At our last Stated Communication during the officer installation, you were asked to bring something from your past. We will halt this show and tell for a future time due to us having to pass Brother Gary Rosenberg to the degree of Fellow Craft. We also have a potential candidate who just submitted his application and if all goes well, we will be initiating him as soon as our second Stated in February. The next several months, during our first Stated Communications, will are packed full of great and interesting Masonic Education. Starting on February 6th, our Worshipful Master will provide us with a presentation on the comparison of Stonehenge and the Point Within the Circle which will include creating Stonehenge within the lodge and we will discuss all the Masonic skepticism that follows it; there will be a lot of visual aids accompanying. On March 6th, we will have a guest speaker all the way from British Columbia, Canada, Illustrious Matthew Clark 33˚, who will provide us with a presentation on the Point Within the Circle and the Tree of Life; this will be a continuation from the previous month’s presentation. We will also have our Brothers’ Breakfast on January 25th starting at 8:00am with the menu consisting of eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits, and gravy. As you all can see, with the attached calendar, we have a lot of different and interesting things happening, so come on out and meet with us in the quarries. Until then, may the blessing of heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us, SMIB!2025 Lodge Calendar.pdf A.F. & A.M. Brethren, We hope Stanta has been good to you all and we hope you all are well as we move into 2025. During our first Stated Communication of the new year this Thursday, January 2nd, we will have a grand full evening of events. We will start off with a good traditional New Years meal of pork and sauerkraut at 6:00pm. Then we will open a Master Mason’s lodge at 7:00pm and quickly dispense with labor to open the lodge to friends and family to join us in installing the 2025 officers, followed up with awarding a worthy brother with our Mason of the year award, next WB Mike Dunn will present Brother Hunter Christy with a bible, and then we will present WB Dunn with his 50-year Veteran’s Award. Finally, the newly installed officer will close the Master Mason’s lodge. Presenting a worthy brother with a 50-year award does not happen often, especially in lodge. We are asking for full participation in this presentation as WB Dunn and his family has provided so much to Freemasonry so, please come out and celebrate. Here’s to wishing all of you a very blessed and happy New Year, may the blessing of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us. Brethren, We hope all is well with you this holiday season. This is a short message to keep everyone informed about our last few events of the year. This Saturday at Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen at 10:00am we will be supporting Wreaths Across America in recognizing our past veterans by laying Christmas wreaths in remembrance. Roman Eagle was able to donate 47 of the 120 wreaths that will be delivered to Bethesda Cemetery. Wreaths Across America's vision is to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom. We are asking for full participation this Saturday in helping with the laying of the wreaths and please bring the younger members of your family along to invest in them some patriotism. Also, our last stated communication will be Thursday December 19th at 7:00pm. Let’s continue with Worshipful Master Byron’s vision of “let’s have fun” and celebrate our final communication of the year with a white elephant gift exchange. If you’d like to participate, please bring a wrapped gift; it doesn’t have to be anything extravagant or more than a $20 value. We are just looking to have a little fun amongst brothers before parting ways for Christmas and bringing in the New Year. Finally, Roman Eagle will have an Open Installation of Officers at our first stated communication in January on Thursday the 2nd. We will have dinner at 6:00pm with opening a MM lodge at 7:00pm and installation following. Well, brethren, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May the blessing of heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons, may brotherly love prevail, and may every moral and social virtue cement us. SMIB A.F. & A.M. Roman Eagle #550 Aberdeen, NC |

Brothern, We hope everyone is doing well. This message is a reminder that we will not be hosting our Brothers’ Breakfast this Saturday at Roman Eagle. However, Hamlet will be having their yearly ham breakfast fundraiser from 6:00am to 10:00am this Saturday. We did not think it would be very brotherly to have competing breakfasts on the same day. Please, take a little ride down to Hamlet Lodge #532, show some fraternal support, and eat an amazing breakfast amongst brothers. In other news, Roman Eagle will be holding elections during our next stated communication on 7 November at 7:00pm with dinner at 6:00pm. Unlike all the craziness happening at the federal level, come join us for a fine meal, fellowship, and unbiased fun friendly voting for next year’s officers. If you have not attended Lodge in quite a while, it’ll be a sight for you as there have been several upgrades and additions within our building. Take care everyone, we look forward to seeing everyone back in our quarries. Fraternally, Roman Eagle #550 |

Brethren of Roman Eagle, We hope everyone has a fun, safe, and long holiday weekend in celebration of our nation’s Independence. Since our next stated communication falls on July 4th, we will be dark. With this said, our monthly meal will be served at our stated communication on 18 July at 6:00pm with gavel at 7:00pm. We will also have our Brothers’ Breakfast this month on Saturday, 27 July starting at 8:00am; the breakfast will consist of the normal eggs, bacon, and sausage with an addition of an oatmeal and fruit bar comprising of sorts of things to add to your bowl of oatmeal; remember, our Brothers' Breakfast is open to friends and family. We hope to see all of you on the 18th and 27th of this month and may the blessing of heaven rest upon us and all regular masons, may brotherly prevail and may every moral and social virtue cement us, SMIB. Brethren of Roman Eagle,
We hope all is well with all of you. This is a short message to inform everyone of some upcoming events. As many of you know, the Moore County Shrine Club has started their springtime hotdog fundraising campaign which happens every Friday from 11:00am – around 2:00pm and will run through the month of June. They are, by far, the most delicious hotdogs in all of NC. This coming Saturday, 27 April, we will have our Bothers’ Breakfast starting at 8:00am. The menu will consist of eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, potatoes, and toasted bread. This breakfast is open to families and friends. This same day is also Spring Feast in Southern Pines, of which, Southern Pines Lodge #484 will be selling bratwursts. Lots of great food in the very near future.
We would also like to remind everyone that our next stated communication on 2 May is Past Masters’ Night with gavel at 7:00pm and WB Mike Dunn will be gracing us with a terrific meal at 6:00pm. There will also be a Masonic presentation on “Freemasonry of Yesteryear and the Value Roman Eagle Lodge #550.” We cordially extend the invitation to our youngest Entered Apprentices (Brothers Casey Pope, Gary Rosenburg, and Odin Rosenburg) to attend all these events to include our presentation and meal on Past Masters’ Night. If there are any Brothers out there that need transportation for Past Masters’ Night please feel free to reach out to me by email, aaron.seifer1@gmail.com or by phone 724-732-5308, and we will arrange transportation for you. We would truly enjoy seeing everyone on Past Masters’ Night. Finally, brethren, be ye all of one mind; live in peace; and may the God of love and peace delight to dwell with and bless you, SMIB!

Stated Communication, every first and third Thursday of every month @ 7:00pm
Brethren of Roman Eagle and to our brothers from across the district,
We hope all is well and hopefully all this pollen is not reaping havoc on anyone’s sinuses. This is a short message to let you all know that we will not have our monthly Brothers’ Breakfast this month due to it falling on Easter weekend; we will, however, resume it next month. Also, the Moore County Shrine Club will be starting their hotdog sales next month. Feel free to come out to Roman Eagle every Friday for lunch and enjoy THE BEST hotdogs in the state with all the fixings starting in April and running through June. Speaking of April along with the spirit of spring and new beginnings, we will be initiating three new candidates during our stated communication on Thursday, 4 April at 1700hrs/7:00pm with a meal at 1800hrs/6:00pm. Two of the candidates are extremely motivated Moore County Firefighters in their mid-twenties and the third is the father of one of these fine gentlemen who is a retired army Special Forces officer. These three good men profess quality. We are asking for maximum participation to not only have a great turnout for the candidates but to also show support to our Jr Warden, John Crowl, who will be conferring the degree. Brethren, we wish you a very blessed Easter and we look forward to seeing everyone in April.
Fraternally,
Roman Eagle #550
PS: Remember, our stated communications are every 1st and 3rd Thursday at 1900hrs/7:00pm of every month.
Brethren of Roman Eagle and surrounding Lodges,
We hope all is well! With the sudden changes in weather, many are walking around with the sniffles; maintain your vitamins, stay hydrated, and stock up on a bit of allergy medication. Notwithstanding, Roman Eagle’s stated communication is this Thursday evening, 7 March at 1900hrs/7:00pm that will include a guest speaker and a meal provided at 1800hrs/6:00pm. Dinner will be hosted by our Worshipful Brother Secretary Kim Styers and Worshipful Master Byron Singleton; please come through, because brother Kim’s chili will be sure to clear your sinuses. As to our main attraction for the evening, Worshipful Brother Mike Register, our Senior Grand Deacon, will be providing us with a presentation on “The Art of Memorization: Techniques for Improving Our Ritual.” With three initiates currently in the hopper, this presentation couldn’t have come at a better time. WB Mike did such an amazing job last year speaking at our lodge that we had to invite him back for 2024. Brothers, you do not want to miss this and let’s provide him with all our undivided attention with 100% attendance at this week’s Stated Communication. We look forward to seeing all of you in the quarries of Roman Eagle, peace be with you brothers.
Fraternally,
Roman Eagle #550
Brethren,
We hope everyone is doing well. Just a reminder, Roman Eagle will be hosting our “Brothers' Breakfast” this Saturday at 0800hrs/8:00am, which is open to the District. The menu will consist of eggs, bacon, grits, sausage, biscuits and gravy, coffee, and juice. Feel free to bring your loved ones and any potential initiates along with you. Keep in mind, breakfast is by donation which is then put towards the following month's breakfast. Please join us in fellowship, good food (we do our best), and, if you have not been around in some time, see all the renovations and symbolism added to the lodge room, preparation room, bathrooms, and dining hall. We hope to see you there.
Fraternally,
Roman Eagle #550
Brothern of Roman Eagle,
We hope everything is going well with you thus far in 2024. This message is intended to pass along some news and upcoming events. The newly installed officers had a meeting with Worshipful Master Byron Singleton a few days ago to set some dates and to gain perspective of his vision for the upcoming year. The Worshipful Master would like to keep things going with masonic education, building improvements, and, most of all, to have a FUN year.
Armed with his vision, we have already requested two highly intelligent Brothers from the Grand Lodge Speakers Bureau. We are excited to announce the return of Worshipful Brother Mike Register, who is currently serving as our Grand Junior Warden, to speak again at our Stated Communication on 7 March. He will provide us with a presentation on “The Art of Memorization: Techniques for improving our Ritual;” anything that can help with the mind is a benefit to us all. Our second guest speaker is Worshipful Brother Steve Barrell who will speak upon the “Immortal Remains: The Point in the Circle” during our first Stated Communication in September. After reading his bio and speaking with him, he seems to be a worldly man and his presentation appears to be fascinating.
Brothers, we have a fairly busy schedule ahead of us for the first half of 2024. First, we hope to see everyone at our Stated Communication this coming Thursday, 18 January. Furthermore, during our first Stated next month on Thursday, 1 February, we will receive the 21st Masonic District’s newly installed DDGM, our very own, Worshipful Brother David Pucket and the DDGL, Worshipful Brother Billy Freeland; we will have a meal at this meeting starting at 6:00pm/1800hrs. For those that are interested, the Middle Chamber introductory class (free of charge) will be held on 17 February at the Greensboro Masonic Temple; see our Sr. Warden if you would like to carpool. This year we intend to have a family game night with the tentative date being Saturday evening of 20 April; more details to follow, just know we will have prizes and a popcorn machine with all the buttery toppings and seasonings. Our first Stated in May we will celebrate our Past Masters on 2 May; please, please, spread the word and if any of our Past Masters need transportation, let it be known as many of us are more than willing to provide a ride. Finally, brothers, we will again have our family picnic in celebration of St John’s Day on Saturday, 22 June, at Pinebluff Lake; we had an amazing time last year and this year will be no different.
Just a reminder, our Stated Communications are held on the first and third Thursday of every month at 7:00pm/1900hrs with a meal on the first Stated of each month. Also, do not forget that we are continuing with our Brothers’ Breakfast on the last Saturday of the month. Bring your family and any potential new initiates to this month’s breakfast on Saturday, 27 January at 8:00am/0800hrs. The menu will include biscuits and gravy, grits, sausage, bacon, and eggs. We wish you all the best and we look forward to seeing you all this Thursday.
Fraternally,
Roman Eagle #550
Brothers,
We all hope you are doing well, and this is a brief message to inform you of some upcoming events. With Thanksgiving tomorrow, please do not forget to give thanks to all those Service Members overseas and all those First Responders working extra/double shifts who are sacrificing their family time during the holidays so that we can safely be with ours.
Upcoming Events:
Saturday, 25 November, 0800hrs or 8:00am we will be hosting our monthly Brothers’ Breakfast. Breakfast will consist of eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, and enjoying our time together in fellowship.
Thursday, 7 December, Stated Communication with the Eastern Star hosting the meal at 1800hrs or 6:00pm with Gavel at 1900hrs or 7:00pm. Brothers, if you haven’t been to a Stated Communication for a while please make it to this one as we have had an amazing year and are still tirelessly honing our working tools due to our endless labors in the quarries with our recent Boston Butt fundraiser (with a very special thank you to Worshipful Brother Mike Dunn) and our upcoming participation in Wreathes Across America, Christmas for Moore, bathroom upgrades, and more. Take care, we wish you all a blessed Thanksgiving, and we hope to see you all soon.
Roman Eagle #550
Brethren,
I hope all is well with everyone. Roman Eagle is continuing with monthly Brother’s Breakfast, and we would like to invite all of you to join us at 0800hrs this Saturday, 28 October, to join us in fellowship. I know many of you have not been active and may not know some of the Bothers in our officer line. With our elections happening during our next stated communications on 2 November, it would be a good time to meet with and catch up with those we will be voting on for the impending year. There will be a meal provided at 1800hrs with gavel at 1900hrs.
Also, Worshipful Brother Mike Dunn will be slow cooking Boston Butts on the evening of 17 November in which they will be ready for pickup on Saturday the 18th. We are currently doing presales now at $40, which is a steal of a deal. All proceeds will go to the Masonic Home for Children. 18 November is the Saturday before Thanksgiving, so come support the lodge and our shared charity by purchasing a fine cut of meat that will be cooked to perfection; it will also provide your Mrs. with a little break from cooking in her preparation to cook a hell of a Thanksgiving meal later in the week, it is a win win situation.
We all look forward to seeing all your smiling faces this coming Saturday morning at 0800hrs. Take care and may the Grand Artificer of the Universe illuminate you and all your loved ones; so mote it be!

Brethren,
I hope everyone is doing well. During yesterday’s stated communication I mentioned the Reguis Poem. It was a surprise to me that no one had ever heard of what is believed to be our oldest written document. To use from darkness to light, I have attached it to this post. The first page tells a little about it and the rest of it reads as though you are reading Dante’s Inferno. Take care and we look forward to seeing everyone at our brothers’ breakfast on 12 August at 0800hrs with a follow-up emergent communication to initiate Mr. Hunter Christy at 0900hrs.

Furthermore, our Junior Warden, Brother Aaron Seifer, will grace us all with his first Masonic presentation with the topic being “Design Theory: Masonic Appreciation & Complex Problem Solving.” Finally, feel free to stay after for post communication refreshments and fellowship. Please join us for this fun filled evening of fellowship, commemoration, and education. Godspeed and we all look forward to seeing everyone.

Brethren,
I hope all is well with everyone. We are looking to establish a group of brothers who would be interested in attending Masonic funerals. There is a void in having a decent showing of Masons to see off our brothers who have started their journey to that undiscovered country of who’s born no traveler returns, that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. We are seeking to form a call group of brothers who are retired, work from home, or have a bit of time on their hands to attend Masonic funerals throughout the 21st Masonic District, regardless of if you know the brother of not. If you are a brother who is interested in attending Masonic funerals please contact me at the undersigned with your name, email, and phone number. Also, please join us at our next stated communication on Thursday 6 April with a meal starting at 1800hrs/6:00pm and lodge commencing at 1900hrs/7:00pm. We are having a special guest speaker, Worshipful Brother Mike Daniels, who is gracing us with a presentation on the Holly Saints John. Thank you all and hope to see you.
