This will make the area safer and more usable for members and community events. I am seeking donations to help cover materials, with a goal of raising $1,200 for shrubs and landscaping. Scout Eagle Project for Lodge on 04/17/2026
Brothers,
We have a young man, Rico Rodriguez, who is currently working toward the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Scouting. Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle rank has represented leadership, service, and commitment — qualities earned through years of effort and demonstrated character. Only a small percentage of Scouts reach this level, and each candidate must complete a significant service project that benefits the community.
Rico’s Eagle project will take place on April 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM, and involves cleaning up the back hill leading down to the water. He will be removing dead brush, clearing overgrowth, and planting new bushes to restore the area and improve its appearance for everyone who uses the space. This project is designed not only to improve the grounds but also to teach Rico the essential skills of planning, organizing, and leading volunteers — the very purpose behind every Eagle Scout Service Project.
In addition to volunteer support, Rico is working to raise $1,200 to cover the cost of materials, plants, and supplies needed to complete the project. Any contribution — large or small — will help him reach this goal and move one step closer to earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Those who wish to donate may do so directly to Rico or through the lodge, and all funds will go toward the project expenses. Our Regular Communication will be on 1-8-2026, the second Thursday of the month. This is allowed by our By-Laws of Myrtle 89. | Brothers of Myrtle Lodge 89!!! On Tuesday, December 23 Starting at 6pm, We will have a Card Night at the Lodge. We will Continue to have card night on the 4th Tuesday of every month. We hope you will come and enjoy some fellowship with Brothers, Family and Friends. This is a GREAT time and opportunity to invite someone that has asked about being a Mason. The card game of choice will be Euchre but if the consensus of the group is to play something else, we can change it up. This will be the second meeting, and if you are available, or just want to get out before the holiday please show up and have some fun. We hope to grow this into monthly get togethers open to Brothers, Family, Friend and maybe a new Future Brother. Feel free to bring a snake to pass or a game to play if you are not into Euchre. | Brothers It is with great sadness that I tell you that on Thursday 10-16-2025 we Lost our Brother, Terry Wolf. Terry was Initiated and Entered Apprentice on 05-22-1980, Passed the Degree of Fellow Craft on 9-18-1980 and Raised to the Degree of a Master Mason on 10-9-1980. He became a 25 year member on 5-30-2006 and received his Life Member on 10-9-2020. As more information is received, I will share. Please keep the family in your prayers. |

| Good Afternoon Brothers Here is a List of Important Dates coming up 10-2 Business Meeting 10-3 MM Degree 6PM 10-9 Past Masters and Awards Dinner 6Pm 11-6 Election Night!! Temple Board and Blue Lodge 11-8 Widows Brunch 12 Noon 12-4 Business Meeting Year end reports from Temple Board and Blue Lodge 12-13 Installation 12 Noon We may and more events to this list and have a FC degree at some point. Please remember to practice your role. The MM degree is a very important part of becoming a Mason and we owe it to the brother to know our parts and show him the respect to put in the work that we would want shown to ourselves. The year is quickly coming to an end if you are an officer with speaking roles. You still have time to try and get certified in your chair; this will set the standard for the next person and help you get a jump start on your next position. I always recommend trying to get certified and if you would like to try, please see secretary to set this up. We will be having a meeting before elections to discuss all elected and appointed positions. We will have open Chairs and if you would like to make it known that you would like to hold some sort of role, we will have information and plenty of people to ask questions to. |

| Good Evening Brothers This week is going to be a very busy week and you will be hearing from me a lot. Tomorrow, Tuesday we will be meeting at the lodge to clean the kitchen. Thursday morning we will be having our health department inspection. Thursday evening we will be meeting to cap strawberries. Saturday and Sunday will be a weekend full of strawberry shortcake’s and good times. We do have a handful of tickets left for the gun raffle that needs to be sold so if you know anyone that wants to buy some, please let us know. We will need lots of help this weekend at Lake Fest. Please bring your families and help out, the more help we have the easier it is for everyone. |

| Brothers There is still a list of Brothers, that still owe dues for 2025, the Dues are always due on January 1st. If you are in Communication with any Brothers that have not been to lodge in a while please encourage them to contact the Secretary. We will be having updates on this in the upcoming meeting. NPD is posable, and if you are behind on dues and still want to be a mason please come to lodge and address the Worshipful Master and fellowship with your brothers. I have included a section of the Blue Book to keep all our Brothers informed. Remember to know the Blue Book and our own Myrtle 89 By-Laws. Last but not least if you want your voice heard before the vote to raise Dues, please come attend the Thursday 7-10-2025 meetings. The first Thursday falls on July 3rd so this meeting has been postponed until the second Thursday 7-10-2025. BLUE BOOK §4.22.1.4: All dues are due and payable on or before January 1st of each calendar year. After January 1st, the member is delinquent if the dues are unpaid. (1994)§4.22.1.5: Delinquent dues lists, the collection of dues and information or procedures pertaining thereto shall be kept within the lodge. (See §4.22.3 for procedures regarding Non-Payment of Dues.) (1975, 1996) §4.22.1.6: An Entered Apprentice or Fellowcraft is not liable for the payment of dues. A Master Mason is liable for the payment of dues from the date upon which he receives his Master Mason Degree. (1884, 1975) §4.22.1.7: The Secretary of a lodge is not liable for the payment of dues. (1980) §4.22.1.8: A Worshipful Master cannot levy an assessment on the Lodge. A Lodge has the authority to properly charge its members for the charges and fees in excess of the dues amount to include the exact charges incurred by whatever electronic means of Dues payment each member selects, which includes dues and electronic surcharges if incurred. An individual Lodge may also charge the member for only those charges associated with any checks returned as Non-Sufficient Funds if his dues are paid in that method, as provided for in the bylaws of the Lodge and/or this amendment. (1887, 1975, 2019) §4.22.2: Remission of Dues §4.22.2.1: A lodge, by vote at a Regular Communication, may remit the dues owed by a Brother if the Brother is unable to pay them without distressing himself or family. (1975) §4.22.2.2: When a lodge by vote remits a Brother’s dues, the action is for the current year only, is final and cannot be reconsidered for the current year. (1988, 1975) (G.M. edict 2004) §4.22.2.3: A lodge may remit the dues of any Brother on active duty in the military service of the Country, whether or not the Brother is able or unable to pay his dues. A blanket resolution remitting dues generally to persons enlisting or activated for deployment into military service is directly contrary to Masonic Law. (1941, 1975, 2010) §4.22.2.4: A lodge may remit the dues of a Brother removed from the rolls for non-payment of dues, then restore the Brother and grant him a Demit if he is otherwise qualified. (1887, 1975, 1996) §4.22.3: Non-Payment of Dues (NPD) §4.22.3.1: A member who is delinquent in his dues to the lodge shall be dropped from the rolls of membership during September provided the following has occurred: (1994, 2001, 2005) (a) Prior to the June Regular Communication the delinquent Brother shall have been sent the regular notice of dues and at least one notice of his delinquency. Revised: 2019 77 (b) At the June Regular Communication the Lodge Secretary shall move that “The following are currently delinquent in their dues and shall be acted upon for Non-Payment of Dues at the September Regular Communication.” He shall then read the list of delinquent Brothers. (c) After the June Regular Communication, but not later than 45 days prior to the September Regular Communication, a final notice shall be delivered by First Class Mail addressed to each delinquent member at his last known address with the notation under the return address on the envelope “Address Service Requested”. This notice shall inform the delinquent member of the proposed action and that, in the event of his being removed from the rolls of membership for NPD, he can be reinstated only in the manner provided by the Blue Book of Michigan Masonic Law. (see §4.22.4) (2006, 2008) (d) The Delinquent Dues Committee shall have received the list of delinquent members no later than the June Regular Communication and shall make every effort to contact each delinquent member about payment of his dues. (e) The Delinquent Dues Committee shall submit a written report to the lodge with the Committee’s recommendation relative to each Brother’s delinquency. The report shall be read in open lodge at the September Regular Communication. (f) At the September Regular Communication each delinquent Brother shall be considered individually. After hearing from the Secretary on the status of the letter sent and hearing the Delinquent Dues Committee’s report, a vote shall be taken to remove him from the rolls of membership. If a two-thirds (2/3) affirmative vote of the lodge exists the delinquent member shall be removed from the rolls of membership effective September 30th. A collective vote may be taken for all those who are on the list for non-payment of dues. In the event the vote is not supported by a two-thirds (2/3) affirmative vote, then the Worshipful Master shall disregard the collective vote and proceed to conduct the vote individually. (2007) (g) If a two-thirds (2/3) affirmative vote to remove him from the roll of membership is not reached, then the lodge shall carry that Brother on the lodge’s roll of membership for the current year and the lodge shall be responsible for all Grand Lodge per capita and assessments apportioned in that Brother’s name. (2002) Calling him. (h) Every effort must be taken to find and/or notify your Brothers. Every effort means: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Writing him. Personal contact (actually knocking on his door, provided the brother lives within 60 miles of the Lodge. (Amended 2021). Checking the names on his petition and have the two signers contact him. Verify with the Grand Lodge Office his address of record. (G.M. decision 2006) §4.22.3.2: The Lodge Secretary shall record in the minutes of the meeting and notify the Grand Secretary of the members so removed from the rolls of membership. (2001) §4.22.3.3: It is not necessary that charges be preferred to strike, drop or remove a member from the rolls of membership for Non-Payment of Dues. The action is administrative and not Judicial. (1994) §4.22.3.4: When a lodge by vote removes a Brother from the rolls, the action is final for the current dues year only and cannot be reconsidered. At any time he may Petition for Restoration and, if he 78 Revised Reprinted: 2021is restored and NPD in another year, he again may be voted upon to be removed from the rolls for nonpayment of dues. (2001, 2004, 2005) |

Bill Green gave the Service for the Carr Family. Friendly Reminder that we have 2 EA Degrees on this Friday 6-6-2025. If you are available, please come see how the officers are doing. We may not be perfect now but I think we have a great opportunity for the Lodge to get Certified. We also have a few Officers that are trying to get Certified in their Chairs. This would be a GREAT milestone for the Lodge. Tomorrow, at the meeting I will be Reading the list of Delinquent Dues. This is the first step in the process and if you know a brother that still owes Dues please encourage them to contact the Lodge. Payments can be made on the Grand lodge website, the Myrtle 89 website or mail in a check for $136.50 made out to Myrtle Lodge 89. If you pay online you will pay a processing fee, that fee is lower at the myrtle 89 website. The address to mail payment is 515 Main St Belleville MI 48111 Lake Fest is just around the corner, and we will need lots of HELP. After Tomorrows Meeting, I will Send out a sign-up sheet for the work schedule, similar to the poker schedule. If you would like the first pick in the schedule, please come to the meeting tomorrow and sign up for a spot. This is a Family Friendly event, and we would like to see a Brothers family come and support him. I know the Rodriguez Boys will be working this event. The more people we have available for work the better we are, and we can all enjoy the weekend. We still have Gun Raffle tickets available to buy or get a book of 20 to sell. If you sell 20 tickets, you are in a special drawing. the drawing will be on Sunday Evening at Lakefest |

| Brothers This week we have our last Poker Event! This one is at the American Legon in Ypsilanti 5-15 / 5-18. If you have time, please stop up and give your Brothers a hand. At the next Regular Communication on 6-5-2025 we will be discussion about Lake Fest, a Myrtle Family picnic and a few other events the Master would like to have. If you have an idea for a fun event and would Like TO SCHEDULE, PLAN AND HOST said event please come prepared to discuss. Lake Fest is a big event for us. It is a great event for the lodge and gives us a good look in the community. We will need every one's help to make this happen. We will have a sign-up sheet with blocks of time so we can all share the pleasure of helping with lake fest. We Still have a LOT of Brothers with UNPAID DUES. If you have not or know someone that needs to pay, please pay as soon as you can or pass on a friendly reminder. REMEMBER Dues are due on January 1. GUN RAFFLE!!!!! We have tickets to sell. Please see an officer about getting tickets. For this Raffle we are trying to have some fun. For every 20 tickets a brother from Myrtle sells, he will get one ticket for a special drawing. Please read them over and if possible, come see the officers of Myrtle. Everyone is working hard, and we are making great progress at the Lodge. Over the past Month we have been busy with a Poker Event, and we also had a Gun Raffle. The March Poker Event raised $3387, and the Gun Raffle Raised $1671.05. The Lodge total for Fundraising for the year is $8568.05 February Poker Event-$3510 March Poker Event-$3387 March Gun Raffle-$1671.05 Remember! We want to be transparent with all the Lodge Money. Please feel free to come to Lodge and look over anything that you have questions about. We do have the next Poker event coming up on 4-14/4-16 at McShane's and the last poker event will be back at the American Legon on 5-18/5-18. We can use help at both events. If you are interested in helping, please come to Lodge and speak with the secretary. Lake Fest is also right around the corner, and we are planning another Gun Raffle, and this one will have a nice incentive for those that sell tickets. We will also need help that weekend to help prep food, serve food and help your lodge make a good name for itself in the community. We will be selling Strawberry Shortcakes along with other foods. This year we plan on having a booth on Main St. to help promote the Lodge. If you haven't been to Lodge in some time, please come see how your Lodge is doing and see all the great changes that all your brothers have made to improve the building and see firsthand how Myrtle Lodge 89 is growing and improving.
