Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training on 06/17/2026

| Brothers of Dona Ana Daylight Lodge #78, Aztec Lodge purchased an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for the Lodge. There is a need to have training on this device. Aztec Lodge is hosting a training class in AED Usage, CPR, and First Aid on Saturday 18 July from 9am to 1pm. Aztec Lodge is covering the majority of the training costs bringing the cost of this class down to $20 per person. Coffee and Donuts will also be supplied (voluntary donations accepted) We have contacted a local AED/CPR/First Aid training company here in Las Cruces. (CPR 4 LIFE | Learn to Save Lives Today) We have given the company an estimate of a class size of 25 individuals. If you are interested, please either call/text/email myself and I'll add you to the list. Payment can be cash/check/or Credit Card either beforehand or day of class. I'd like to know how many people will be in attendance so please reply on or before Monday 6 July. That way I can give the company a hard number. If you are thinking about this training, please keep in mind that our members are a bit older than other organizations. Granted the AED will be at Aztec but you may find yourself in other locations where knowledge of AED/CPR/First Aid would be beneficial. Hope to hear from you all soon!! Just a short note to let everybody know that our next stated meeting will be held at 180 E Boutz Road (Aztec Lodge No 3). The building is just across the street from the Scottish Rite Temple. | Dear Brothers of Dona Ana Daylight Lodge #78, Fraternal Greetings! As we approach the end of another Masonic year, I write to you with important information regarding our upcoming elections for the 2025-2026 term and matters related to membership dues and the demit process. 2025-2026 Lodge Elections In accordance with Code 172 of our Grand Lodge Bylaws, officers shall be elected by ballot at a regular communication in November or December, as specified in our Lodge Bylaws. Our Lodge has scheduled these elections for our regular communication on November 1, 2025. This is an opportunity for us to select dedicated Brothers to lead our Lodge forward. I encourage all eligible Brothers to consider stepping up to the responsibilities of office. Serving as an officer is a profound commitment to the principles of Freemasonry. As outlined in Code 171, to be eligible for the office of Worshipful Master, a Brother must have previously served and been installed as a Warden or Master in a recognized Lodge, ensuring experience in leadership and ritual proficiency. Responsibilities include presiding over meetings with fairness and wisdom, upholding the landmarks of the Craft, fostering Brotherly love, and guiding the Lodge in its charitable and educational endeavors. Wardens, Treasurer, Secretary, and appointed officers each play vital roles in maintaining the harmony, financial stability, and operational smoothness of our Lodge. By stepping forward, you contribute to the strength and continuity of our ancient institution. Remember, solicitation of votes is prohibited, though nominations are permissible for Treasurer and Secretary. Let us approach this with the dignity befitting our order. Installation of the newly elected officers will occur in December, preferably on the anniversary of St. John the Evangelist (December 27), but no later than January 31, 2026. Specific date to be determined by the incoming Master. 2026 Lodge Dues and the Demit Process As we look ahead to 2026, please be reminded that, per Code 370, Lodge dues are payable on January 1 of each year, in advance. Our Lodge dues, combined with the Grand Lodge per capita (as defined in Code 369), support the operations of our Lodge and the broader Masonic community. The specific amount for 2026 dues will be as set forth in our Lodge Bylaws and any adjustments approved by the membership. 2026 Regular Dues remain at $105.00. Timely payment ensures your good standing and continued participation in our fraternal activities. If you are facing hardship, Code 372 allows for remission of dues upon application to the Lodge. For those Brothers who may be considering withdrawing from membership to avoid the 2026 dues requirement, please note the demit process under Code 381. A Brother not holding plural membership, who is not indebted to the Lodge and against whom no charges are pending, may apply in writing for a demit. Upon receipt, the Worshipful Master shall order the issuance of the demit as of that date. To prevent liability for 2026 dues, such a request must be made before January 1, 2026, as dues become due on that date. Once demitted, a Brother retains certain limited rights, such as one visitation for affiliation purposes and eligibility for a Masonic funeral, but loses other privileges of membership (Code 382). If you are considering this step, I urge you to discuss it with the Worshipful Master or Secretary to ensure all obligations are met.
